Heartland Signature Ceremonies

My name is Susan Markley. I am an ordained, non-denominational minister licensed by the state of Ohio to solemnize marriage. I am not just an officiant who simply says some words at your wedding; I have a passion for life, love and creative writing which brings me great joy in doing what I do! And what I do is create ceremonies that are uniquely yours. Born here in Ohio's heartland, I am a happy fifty two year old mother of two grown children whom I am extremely proud of and who have blessed me with three beautiful grandchildren. My husband John and I have been married for over thirty years and reside in Ashland, Ohio. Life is good and very full indeed!

As a true minister I am here to provide a service that meets your needs. I work from the heart and with heart. I've discovered that by serving in this capacity and creating ceremonies that unite couples in a committed relationship, love has a ripple effect to all involved. I often mention during ceremonies that LOVE is the essence of mankind. This is something I base my life upon. I deem it a great pleasure and blessing to work with couples in creating a ceremony that is theirs alone and then presenting it from the heart. The act of solemnizing and legalizing your marriage is an honor for which I am most grateful. It's very rewarding to be a vital component to such a special and sacred event!

My spiritual beliefs are multi-faceted and non-judgemental. I acquired my education in Theology over the past fifteen years beginning with a four year course study of Bible doctrine and Christian principles. This laid a foundation for six years of active enrollment in Ministerial Training School, which preceeded and included several years of public evangelical work. I have always enjoyed working and ministering within the public sector and have since continued broadening my horizons through an interest in Eastern Philosophy, Quantum Physics and Early Religion. I honor and respect whatever belief system to which you adhere and may desire incorporating into a meaningful ceremony whether it be secular, religious or spiritual. My positive attitude, supportive nature, and sense of humor will make you feel relaxed as I listen to your needs and work with you according to your circumstances. The result of doing what I love is that it really does come from the heart, which makes every wedding as unique and special as the couples I marry.
